Take a look at these base, back and arm cushions we have recently upholstered for one of our contract upholstery customers based in Bristol to create this seating area.
Paneltech supplied us with a drawing to work to, confirmed the sizes with us and then supplied us with the boards to upholster.
We upholstered the cushions using Camira Fabrics, range Nexus in colour Oceanic. We then added piping to the base and arm cushions only using the same fabric to create the finished look.
As our client wanted the cushions to look and feel very plush we added an extra layer of dacron over the new foam to create a more softer cushion and make them look a lot more plump.
The arm rests are also removable from the frame which is a clever added feature of the seating area. We achieved this by added a layer of Velcro to the arm cushions and to the frame meaning the arms can be removed and fixed back onto the frame quick and easily.
What do you think of the finished look? We think it looks brilliant.
Here we have recently upholstered back and base cushions for our contract upholstery customer based in Clevedon.
Paneltech got in contact with us as they were looking for back and base cushions to be upholstered to complete a seating area in a restaurant
Our client supplied us with the boards and we added new foam using a contract suitable grade to each and then we used Sunbury Fabrics range San Reimo in colour Hazlenut to upholster them.
We fluted the back cushions and kept the base cushions plain to create this perfect finished look. Our upholsterers were careful to ensure to the fluting was equal over each back cushion.
Take a look at our pictures of the seating once it had been fitted. We think it looks fantastic, what do you think?
Here we have upholstered some bench seating for Winterbourne Cricket Club based in Bristol. Robert originally got in touch and asked if we can carry out a site visit to talk through their requirements and provide them with a quotation.
We arranged a date and time suitable for them to view the seating and then provided them with a no obligation quote. Robert wanted the seating upholstered in a certain colour to match their existing so they popped into our Clifton store to look over sample books.
We were able to find the perfect colour match for him using Warwick Fabrics, range Rouen using colour Port. We also replaced the trim around the kick plates with new using colour Heather which they were able to choose themselves.
We replaced all of the back and base foams using a contract suitable foam to add that extra support.
We understand that being a business they need to remain operational at all times which is why we were able to book the work to be completed at a date suitable with them and complete on a quick turnaround. Our skilled upholsterers attended on a Monday to uplift the seating, returned it to the workshop to complete and re-fitted it back on Friday all in the same week!
We recently upholstered these bench seats for Krispy Kreme in Cabot Circus Bristol.
The existing seating came to us needing a little TLC due to being in the outdoor seating area of the store. We replaced the existing boards using new ply board, added new reticulated foam and then upholstered the seating using Ultra Fabrics in Green to match their existing seating.
Reticulated foam is a very porous low density foam which acts as a net to allow water to run through the foam rather than pool in the middle. This means when it rains the foam will not store water as other foam grades may. This is the perfect foam grade to choose if you have seating in an outdoor area.
We ensured the work was carried out quickly and efficiently so that the store were not without the seating for too long as we understand it is important for them to remain fully operational whilst we work our magic on the benches.

We love working on different types of upholstery projects! Take a look at these cubes we have recently upholstered for Morbern Europe to go in their offices!
Our client supplied us with the finished sizes for the cubes, vinyl and the design requirements and we got to work.
We cut to size the foam using a firm grade to keep the shape and then we cut the vinyl into squares large enough to cover each side of the cube. Our client requested for three different coloured vinyl to be on each cube and then one side of the cube showing their logo.
This is a brilliant idea if you are looking for a different design for advertising and a feature piece within your offices.
Take a look at the pictures of the cubes in situ below!
Here is what our client had to say once we completed the cubes:
Excellent customer service – SW Upholstery kept us informed of progress throughout the process and managed to meet our very tight deadline. We have found the best possible partners for our upholstered exhibition props!
We recently created buttoned back and plain base cushions for these metal benches for Bristol Blue Lagoon, a local café bar.
Our customer supplied us with the metal benches and asked us to create back and base cushions. We measured the benches and cut ply boards to the correct sizes. Next up was a layer of firm foam, suitable for contract use. Finally, we upholstered the cushions using Newcastle Green leather from Crest JMT leather. We added buttons to the back cushions to create the chesterfield look and we think it looks great.
We really enjoyed working on this project and loved seeing the pictures of the benches back in the bar.
We recently upholstered a dental chair for our client based in Keynsham, Bristol.
Our client contacted us as their original chair needed some attention. We arranged for colour samples from Warwick Fabrics to be sent out to them so they were able to match the existing colour. They decided on Warwick Fabrics, using Ginkgo vinyl, colour Petrole. The vinyl we used is suitable for a health care environment, as the Ginkgo collection can be wiped clean and is already treated to contract fire regulations.
We then discussed the dates for the work to be carried out. As a dental surgery we understand that time is everything and that they needed the seat completed on a quick turnaround. Once the date was agreed, we attended early morning to collect the dental chair, took it to our workshop based in Bristol, reupholstered it and then delivered it back all within the same day.
This meant that their business was not impacted during this time and they remained fully operational.
We love working on unusual pieces, here is a bar front we have recently upholstered for one of our clients at JCB!
They supplied us with the drawings, unit and vinyl and asked us to create this look! The unit has holes already there where glasses can be placed!
We think the diamond stitching in a contrasting colour looks great! Do you have an unusual project you need our help with?
How exciting is this project we have recently undertaken. We were approached by Aero Collections Trust to assist with the upholstery for Concorde cockpit which is now based at Filton in Bristol.
Our client wanted us to upholster the head lining for the cockpit in a diamond quilted stitched effect. We had many meetings with our client to discuss the details and design to ensure this was correct.
We were given drawings to work to and worked closely alongside our client.
We are very proud of the finished look and our upholstery team were very excited to be able to undertake such an unusual project.
Take a look at our below photos where the upholstery team were able to get inside of the cockpit.
I would like to thank SW Upholstery and Andy and Alan on behalf of BACT and the FD Team for their excellent work on Thursday installing the AeroBristol Concorde Museum flight deck upholstery. Looks really great and adds all we had hoped for and more.
Your excellent help and skills appreciated,
from Mike Hall and exhibit team. – BR, Mike Hall

The Battleaxes pub in Wraxall was undergoing a refurbishment and requested a mixture of brand new bespoke furniture and existing pieces to be upholstered.
As we’re sure you can see, the feel of the pub is very cosy and classic, incorporating pheasants and leaf patterns into the fabrics chosen. We created a 4m long sofa, round arm cocktail chairs, a buttoned back sofa, pouffe sets, and a range of scatter cushions. We also upholstered pinch back club chairs, a three piece button back suite and more, ready for their re-opening. All were upholstered in either Linwood Fabrics or Crest JMT leather.
Dental chairs can be expensive to replace. We offer a dental chair reupholstery service, saving money and giving you the option to choose from hundreds of colours.
Some of the examples below needed new foam, others simply required a new cover. Find out more on why to upholster your dental chairs here — repair dentist chairs.
This was a bespoke sofa project we relished being involved with from the moment it was dreamt up. Our client wanted to create a ‘Cosy’ look in their bar and expressed interest in making a large sofa to make the most of the space and make it feel a bit more like home than bench seating.
From drawings, sketches, and photos, we worked out a way to fulfil their criteria, by creating an 8.5m long bespoke sofa upholstered in a hard-wearing velvet.
A beautifully soft foam has been used in the base and backs for that added comfort. For extra luxury, we used turned legs with brass castors, and a gorgeous braid. With art deco style arms, this is a piece to remember.
We assembled the sofa in our showroom and had to extend it into the workshop it was so large! It almost disappears into the distance.
Now it sits in its new home at Cosy Club in Liverpool, and we think it fits in just perfectly.
