What are the costs to reupholster your sofa?

It is extremely difficult to provide you with an accurate quote to reupholster your sofa without seeing it first. However, our years of experience have meant we’ve been able to develop a system which allows us to predict a starting price for most of the furniture we work on.

For example, a simple two seat sofa reupholstered in material from our standard range would typically cost £972 (VAT included) to recover. We’ve based this price of a reupholstered sofa on a sofa with four removable cushions – if yours requires less work or is smaller sized then we would reduce the price appropriately.

What factors will affect the cost to reupholster your sofa?

Whilst we try to provide you with an accurate standard price to reupholster your sofa, there are a few
aspects which can affect the costs to recover your sofa:

New foams or filling

We only replace these if you want us to, or if they’re so worn out that they’re beyond repair! If you want to see the different densities we offer, visit one of our showrooms

Frame repairs or new springs

At South West Upholstery, our experts can advise whether you need a new spring or frame repair. Sometimes, it’s not always possible for us to see the extent of the damage until we strip it down – sometimes the upholstery is the only thing holding the sofa together! See the image below for an example.

Buttons/piping/zips

Although these are optional add ons, you may decide that you want to add an extra bit of personality into your reupholstered sofa with these delightful finishing touches

Choosing your fabric

We previously mentioned choosing material from our standard range. As we know sometimes you just need a ball park figure to work out whether upholstering is feasible, we base the quote on selecting fabric from our standard £26 per metre or less range. This includes hundreds of materials, including vinyl and velvet, all suitable for upholstery purposes! We do have other designs and leather available too, but these will alter the price of your quote.

Getting it to us

A lot of customers express concern about how they will get their sofa to us, but rest assure we also offer a collection and delivery service. Two friendly delivery men will safely remove the item from your property and load it carefully into our van. Once the work is complete we give you a call to arrange delivery back, and voila! You have a beautiful piece of furniture with very little hassle!
