As winter draws in, many businesses look to create perfect cosy spaces for customers and clients to feel at home and spend more time there. It could be a cosy armchair beneath a lamp, a chaise lounge sporting a statement fabric, or even a simple footstool, which can totally transform your workspace.
The more your customers feel relaxed and like they can sit back in a home away from a home, the longer they are likely to stay – and crucially, spend more money with you.
So, whether you own a restaurant, coffee shop or office, and no matter if you require small or large scale commercial upholstery work, a bespoke design or furniture repairs Bristol-wide or elsewhere, we can definitely help.
In order to help you decide how to create that ideal space for your business, we have put together a few top tips for you.
Think about how the piece will fit in with your space
Firstly, you will need to consider where the piece will go. If it is an existing piece of general household upholstery you need revamping or a number of pieces you are putting together to create your cosy space, where will the light hit and do you need any lamps or furnishings to make the ambience cosier?
Also, stylistically, how will it blend in with the other furniture within your room? It will need to complement it, so think about the style, colour, size and shape of your other pieces, then you will have a better idea of what will be a good addition.
If you are looking for inspiration, then you are welcome to take a peek at our recent orders, where you may find something that takes your fancy! With 18 years of experience as leading Bristol upholsterers, we have tons of happy clients under our belt and plenty of past designs to choose from.
Alternatively, you could also approach us with a bespoke design you have in mind, if you wish. Whether you send us a drawing or photograph, pop into one of our showrooms in Clifton Village or Bedminster, or give us a call to discuss your idea.
Consider your fabric choice for practicality as well as style
You may have a very strong view from the outset on the type of material you want, however, if you don’t, then there are plenty of options you can choose from. It is not just about colour, there’s also texture to consider, durability, how it will look in different lights and how it cleans.
This is why it is good to get some expert info on the matter as well as plenty of samples! This then enables you to place them where the furniture will eventually go, so that you can see how it will look in your home or workplace.
If the piece is going to be exposed to children, members of the public or close to a coffee machine, for example, then you might want to look at wipe-clean fabric. Many people choose leather or vinyl for this reason, as they are renowned for their easy to clean properties and Linwood fabrics are a very popular choice too. However, another alternative we can offer is Aquaclean.
This is an ideal fabric for an environment where there is a high risk of spills as it enables you to clean even red wine and biro with just water!
Make sure you are 100% happy with it before approving for completion
It is very important to provide as much information as you can from the outset on your desired design, however, you will be pleased to know that we take great care in ensuring satisfaction throughout the process. From the start, you will be assigned a dedicated upholsterer who will work on your piece from start to finish for you, then two upholsterers will review it before signing off for your viewing.
At this stage in the process, you will be invited to come in for a viewing, or alternatively, if you are based further afield, we can send you photographs instead.
We provide services across the whole of the UK, creating all of our wonderful pieces from our Bristol upholstery HQ in the South West of England. We use only FSC approved wood and have a team of extremely experienced upholsterers who will take immense pride in creating your chosen piece.
So, let your imagination run wild and let us help you create your ideal commercial winter cosy spot!
